2021 ASEAN Cooking Class (Spring & Summer)
The ACH’s ASEAN Cooking Class, one of our longest-running and most popular programs, is back! This interactive program, which has run annually since 2017, gives participants a chance to try their hand at cooking diverse dishes from the 10 ASEAN countries. In previous years, we’ve featured dishes such as Nasi Goreng (Indonesia), Phat Thai (Thailand), and Cha Gio (Viet Nam). This year’s program will be conducted in two parts, one in each half of the year. The first part will be held from May through July and aims to give participants the rare opportunity to have a fully sensory experience of ASEAN culinary culture. For further information about the program and how to apply, please visit the ACH website.

ASEAN Cuisine Recipe Card & Video
We retain memories of travel destinations in diverse ways. Physical spaces are learned and remembered not only through the people we meet and landscapes we visit, but also by the food we eat. To alleviate the boredom cause by COVID-19 travel restrictions, the ACH has d recipe cards and cooking videos for 25 dishes featured in our Easy Access ASEAN: Cooking Class from 2018 through 2020, including Kor Trey (Cambodian broiled fish) and Laksa (a spicy noodle dish popular in Singapore and Malaysia). The recipe cards feature detailed, easy-to-follow directions that can easily be replicated at home, even by novice cooks. Available at the exit of the Special Exhibition Gallery (ACH, 1F) until supplies run out.
