Filosofi Kopi (2015) is a film depicting the story of two childhood friends, Ben and Jody, who use coffee as a medium to engage in a period of soul searching while learning to fully reconcile with their past. The story begins with the two of them running a café called Filosofi Kopi, home to the best-tasting coffee around, when one day, a businessman stops by to challenge them to brew the perfect cup of coffee. They decide to take on the challenge, all the while looking back on their relationship with their parents, and in the process, healing past wounds. Each scene of the film unabashedly exudes the charm of coffee, as well as the exotic nature of coffee farming in Indonesia.
