Participating in ASEAN-Korea Futurist (AKF)* was a valuable experience for me. I’m sincerely grateful to the AKF staff members who gave me the chance to join in on the activities of the ASEAN Culture House together with the other attendees with whom I’ve been able to form close relationships.  

   Thanks to the warm consideration of the others in my group, I was able to easily understand the details of our missions. During the first mission in particular, “Give a Talk on ASEAN Countries,” I was happy when my fellow group members selected my home country, Indonesia, because I didn’t feel like an outsider from a foreign country, but instead felt like an equally valued and accepted member of the group. 

  For the second mission, “Welcome. Are you new to ASEAN?,” there was a lot to prepare and the details were more complicated than the other missions. But the cooperation and support of my AKF friends was a big help. In the last mission in which I participated, which was “ASEAN Cooking Class,” I didn’t feel any trace of the sense of alienation that I’ve sometimes felt during my life studying abroad, and I was able to experience a sense of kinship with my peers. 

    I hope that my peers shared similar good feelings and made memories they will cherish, just like I did. Thank you.
